Cushman Fund Day: A Community Celebration
With honks, smiles, and waves, The Cushman School celebrated Cushman Fund Day and has officially kicked off its 2020-2021 Cushman Fund Campaign.
On Friday, October 16, 2020, the Office of Advancement hosted a school-wide celebration to mark the beginning of the annual campaign for this 2020-2021 school year. Parents and students from both the upper and lower schools were invited to the morning drive-through celebration where parents were given tea and information on The Cushman Fund. The day ended at pick-up with a sweet treat, special Cushman Fund chocolate coins.
Gifts to The Cushman Fund are dollars that are a part of our School’s yearly budget designed to help cover operating expenses. Given on an annual basis, these donations are used by The Cushman School to implement innovative programming and personalized services that tuition revenue doesn’t cover. Usually, the gifts are unrestricted and give Cushman the necessary tools to be forward-thinking and relevant while providing our children with an excellent education. Because costs go up every year, The Cushman Fund goal also increases yearly.
As a non-profit, independent school, the entire Cushman School community is encouraged to contribute annually to our Cushman Fund. Cushman seeks 100% participation from our Cushman community.
“Thank you to our parents, grandparents and alumni for their generosity and support,” said Dr. Arvi Balseiro. “By supporting our Cushman Fund, we teach by model and example. We build morale; we build industry, courtesy, and responsibility; we build relationships; and most importantly, we build our future. Your heart…not the amount you give, is what we appreciate!”
The event helped raise more than $12,000 for The Cushman Fund campaign. To date, the school has raised more than $45,000 toward its $370,000 goal.
