In this series, The Cushman School Advancement Team is profiling some of the most distinguished Cushman Alumni from our 95 year history. After years of studying and working toward a career, these Cougar’s hard work has paid off.

Name: Adam Jaffe

Hometown: Miami, FL

Degree/Major: Double major. Multinational business, and Management.

Years attended The Cushman School: 1992 – 1994

Where are you working? Title? Executive Vice President at Majestic Mirror & Frame

In a nutshell, what do you do in your role (one sentence or less)?
We provide mirrors for hotels all over the world, and I get to work with my family every day.

What was your greatest fear going into your first job and how did you face it or overcome it?  I didn’t have much fear going into my first job as it is a family business. If I had any fear at all it was how will we all get along by being together all day, every day. Thankfully, its been great for us.

Family Snapshot? Ive been married to my wife Dara for 13 years (together for 17 years), and we have an 11-year-old son Noah, who is in his first year at Cushman.

Word that describes you: Friendly

What is your favorite memory of The Cushman School? When I was at Cushman I had a lot of great friends, and the teachers were always so nice to us. But if I had to pick something out, it would be recess time. Where the middle school is currently placed, it used to be a bunch of houses that we had classes in. Outside those houses was a small basketball court. I spent every recess on that basketball court playing with friends. That was always the most fun to me.

What do you think sets The Cushman School apart?  The caring atmosphere of the students and faculty.

How did things you learned at The Cushman School help you achieve success? Always treating people with respect and kindness. It can go a long way.

Your proudest accomplishment: My proudest accomplishment in life is watching my son grow up to be a great person. My proudest accomplishment in my time at Cushman when I was a kid? That had to be when I broke the pull up record during the presidential fitness challenge.

What do you do when you are not working? Spend time with my family and friends. I love to travel, ski, and spend time out on the boat.

Recommend an article or a book  “Taking Flight!”. It’s a great book that I read for business but has an approach for everyone’s lives in general. It helps you understand how you communicate with others, and vice-versa.

What would you recommend to future Cushman alumnus? Cherish your time at Cushman. It’s an incredible place, and it goes by fast.
