FESTIVAL HISPANO

I’ve always enjoyed the rich culture found at The Cushman School. Located in this historic pocket of the international city of Miami, our student body has always reflected various ethnic, religious and socioeconomic backgrounds over our 90-year history. The Cushman School continues to celebrate this diversity in ways that are festive and educational for us all. So it is with great excitement that I announce our first Hispanic Heritage Festival this Friday, October 25th. I look forward to celebrating our Hispanic heritage and its influence upon our students’ everyday lives with our students, faculty, staff and parents.

In keeping with The Cushman School’s mission statement: “developing all students as responsible citizens and effective leaders who maintain a positive approach to life,” I feel we are lucky to have exposure to families and their traditions from all over the world. This builds global awareness in our students and teaches them confidence in communicating cross culturally, which is ever more important in education today and which will prepare them for their future. I encourage us all to get to know each other, learn about one another’s cultures and enjoy the diversity within our  Cushman family here on campus.

Please join us on Friday, October 25th, beginning at 9:00 a.m. for the Primary School assembly. Then we invite you to stay for light Hispanic cuisine presented by the Primary parents. At 10:45 a.m. the Elementary School will share dances of  the Hispanic culture. Our half day FESTIVAL HISPANO is brought to you by the World Languages and Global Studies Departments.
