Give Miami Day Recap

During the week of November 16th-19th, The Cushman School came together to support our school as part of Give Miami Day, our city’s largest philanthropic event. Cushman placed 29th out of 856 nonprofit organizations and received 246 individual donations raising $103,494 for our school’s Cushman Fund, which does not include the bonus dollars that will be awarded to us from The Miami Foundation. Dr. Balseiro was filled with gratitude as she stated “I am so proud of the engagement and generosity of our Cushman community…not only because of the money raised but more importantly, because of the heart you so generously give and for entrusting us with your child(ren).”

Funds raised on Give Miami Day are gifts to The Cushman Fund which are dollars that are part of our School’s yearly budget designed to help cover operating expenses. Given on an annual basis, these donations are used by The Cushman School to implement innovative programming and personalized services, as well as imminent needs relevant to the school year. The recent COVID-19 related expenses are an example of what tuition revenue does not cover. Usually, the gifts are unrestricted and give Cushman the necessary tools to be forward-thinking and relevant, while providing our children with an excellent education. Because costs go up every year, The Cushman Fund goal also increases yearly.

To date, the school has raised more than $174,000 toward its $370,000 goal. Our main aim is to achieve 100% parent participation toward The Cushman Fund, and because of your generosity on Give Miami Day, we are excited to be almost half-way to our financial goal for this school year!  For more information and/or to make a gift to The Cushman Fund, click here or contact Lisa Arvin.
