Over the past 26 years that I have been a member of Cushman’s community, I have repeatedly experienced the many ways that Cushman demonstrates just how special our school is. This past week, it was again confirmed through the amazing events demonstrating the power of support and celebration in our Cushman Family. The Blue and White days were great fun, and the tremendous participation of our parents contributed to the spirit of competition. The celebration of the Chinese New Year, through individual and group songs, enlivened the Chinese culture and our appreciation for diversity. As I enjoyed the Gallery Walk displaying all of the students’ expressions through art, I more deeply appreciated the importance of Cushman valuing the arts in education and providing students time for creativity. The culmination of the Gallery Walk, the unveiling of Cushman’s Tree of Life with artist Daniel Fila, proved how Cushman continues to lead the way with innovative, relevant programming. The love and participation in Saturday’s touching tribute to Maria Krasovitzky exemplified the true meaning of a Cushman community. Our community’s heart was one throughout the entire day as we enjoyed our family picnic and Latin music festival. Thank you for sharing yourself with us, and for being a very important member of The Cushman School community. Cushman is something special.
