A Bittersweet Goodbye to our Graduates

I just enjoyed a beautiful ceremony where I watched our impressive 8th grade class graduate. It’s very bittersweet for me to bid farewell to these students as they move onto high school and know they won’t be coming to Cushman each morning. Many have been with us since they were toddlers and watching them develop and grow into such talented well-rounded adolescents is a blessing that comes with my many years here as well.  But, knowing that they are thoroughly prepared for their next chapter of life is the most rewarding part of being an educator. And, it’s not just ensuring they have a solid academic foundation to be successful with their course work in high school, college, and beyond, but most importantly…they are equipped to become accomplished adults, personally and professionally, with a positive approach to life.

Our program and spiraling curriculum that begins as early as pre-K focuses on instilling confidence, poise and good character. These articulate young men and women leave Cushman ready for the challenges ahead. They also matriculate with a lifelong love of learning on a quest for higher, specialized education. I am sure that we will see many of our graduates become leaders in the various fields they pursue, and I look forward to keeping in touch and seeing them return to visit Cushman, which will always be their home. I will always be honored that their most formative years were spent on our campus with their forever Cushman family.
