I’ve been involved in education for over 29 years, and have been lucky enough to be a part (and now the Head) of a school that continually seeks opportunities to reach, challenge and inspire students. I have experienced countless moments where children have identified their passions and what they often communicate about them further educates me. One such example, and one that I am proud and honored to have founded is TEDxYouth@Miami. I believe this platform that gives children and young adults the opportunity to express their ideas, that, in the spirit of TED are worth spreading, has great impact on the world. Even simple thoughts, a poem, the importance of a hobby, or a personal struggle shared by one individual in this kind of forum can be life changing for a member in the audience. And, since TEDxYouth Day talks are live-streamed globally, those who may benefit from a shared message can be vast. At the same time, every presenter is equally empowered as continually evidenced by his or her compelling testimonials. I invite you to join me and be a part of our TEDxYouth@Miami event held on February 26, 2016, at the Adrienne Arsht Center. This will be the 5th TEDxYouth@Miami event that my team and I curate for youth ages 6 to 25 in the South Florida region. So, whether you’d like to submit an application to become a presenter, attend the live TEDxYouth@Miami event with us, or log in to watch, I can promise, you’ll be inspired.
