Day in the Life of a Primary School Student

The Cushman Primary School is an active environment where children learn through and with their environment and friends in a developmentally appropriate way.  On any given day, one would see evidence of student exploration and collaboration as mathematical, oral and written language, science or social studies concepts are acquired, engagement with music and movement, development of a love for learning multiple languages including Chinese and Spanish, and more importantly, creativity while learning how to think, and not what to think. From the differentiated instruction that occurs in the classrooms to the wonderful enrichment subjects the students receive such as daily physical education, world languages, art, music, science lab, math lab, and library, Cushman Primary students develop intellectual curiosity and understanding, emotionally and in physical growth.  More importantly, the daily and integrated implementation of Dr. Cushman’s 85 year old philosophy of character first develops in students the virtues of industry and perseverance, courtesy, empathy and compassion, and responsibility for oneself, one’s family and community.  Please join us and take a moment to view a Day in the Life of a Primary School Student!
