Before and After Care
BEFORE SCHOOL CARE (BSCP) 7:15a.m.-8a.m.
This is a morning care program available to all students at Cushman. This program begins at 7:15a.m. on the Primary School Playground. If your child arrives at school before 8:00a.m. he/she must sign into the BSCP program. The BSCP charge is $15 per week or $3 per day. You will be billed monthly for this service.
AFTER SCHOOL YMCA EXTENDED DAY CARE PROGRAM 4:00p.m.-6:00p.m.
Whether you are a working parent whose job necessitates after school care or you are occasionally delayed the YMCA Extended Day Care Program provides a supervised place for your child. A light snack and organized and free play are provided.
The YMCA registration fee is $40 per year, per child. You must register your child to use this aftercare program. Please print out and complete the registration form, and return to the main office with a $40 check made out to the YMCA of Greater Miami. YMCA charges are $10 per day, or $35 per week, all accounts must be settled every 2 weeks. If you are not using these services on a regular basis, the YMCA asks that you pay at time of service. The YMCA accepts checks and credit cards.
Please read the following rules that must be followed for BSCP and Aftercare programs.
- Billing begins promptly at 4:01p.m. sharp, please plan accordingly.
- If a child(ren) remains on the playground after 4p.m. with or without a parent or caretaker, the parent will be charged for aftercare. Child(ren) are welcome to stay and play and enjoy a snack, however, the parent will be charged.
- Every child must be signed out. Please sign out your child ONLY when leaving campus. This is for the safety of the children. We must know who is on the playground at all times.
- If a child is enrolled in an after school activity, e.g., band, chorus or a club, the parent must pick the child up directly from that activity. If a child is released to the playground by the instructor, he or she will be registered in aftercare resulting in a charge.
- The same rules apply during aftercare as during the regular school day. Children are to demonstrate their Cushman School behavior towards all after school personnel as well as each other.
- Any child with repeated discipline issues will be barred from the EDC program.
- All students must be picked up by 6:00p.m. Parents will be charged $10 for every 15 minute block of time or any part thereof after 6:00p.m.. There will be no exceptions. After 3 late charges, the late fee will be raised to $25 for every block of 15 minutes.
